Drawing guests from more distant markets was a Mohegan Sun strategy to increase visitation to their Connecticut property. Providing access to overnight stays allowed guests to game and enjoy entertainment without having the long drive home at the end of the day. The first hotel opened in 2002 and the second in 2016.

GOING OVER AND ABOVE THE COMPETITION

We launched the first hotel as a tower in reference to its commanding silhouette above the rest of the property’s low-profile buildings. The distinctive Sky Tower brand was pulled through all customer touchpoints and was applied to the Earth Tower for its launch. Overabove continues to support the successful launch of Mohegan Sun properties in multiple districts nationwide with strategic brand platforms.

RESULTS

Mohegan Sun is the most profitable casino in the Western Hemisphere.
